Hei.
We have booked Smyril for departure 6th of july, but now the rest of my family are growing more and more negative to the whole Icelandtrip this summer... (because of the eruption/ ash and so on..).
How dangerous is it, actually? I have looked forward to this trip for several years, and now I fear it will all be delayed for another year...

This volcano is not dangerous,if you just not stays to close to it...in worst case,it can having fact of some tracks on the south coast,witch can be closed,but west,north,east should be normal....so on my opinion I would not delay it....the currency of the Iclandic krona is still good for you...I don“t know after a year..

like Dassi explained this is not threatening but can of course affect some tracks close to the eruptions but shouldn“t affect the north, west or the east.

Yesterday these arrived by post :
In Surnadal it's now 7 deg and rain (has been for several weeks...). Had a look at the norwegian webweatherforecast "YR" two days ago,
- it said that Egilstadir was enjoying 20 deg and sunny weather ..? (That is exactly how it was like the last time we were visiting, too.)
Anyway, we are now really looking foreward to the trip, and everything is ready for takeoff. Every day I have a look at the "Vegagerdin"-site,
and it seems that all the mountainroads well be ready in time?
We are arriving the 8th of july, and could have managed to reach the gathering at Hunaver, but I think we are going more like the map above...
Maybe we'll meet some of you in the Reykjavik-area a week later? We are picking up a relative of mine at Keflavik around the 15th of July,
and the plan is to drive around for three-four days, to show him some of the highlights in the area before he is going back by plane... Maybe
you have some suggestions for a nice route, also with some mountainroads, nearby Reykjavik?

Back again from the Icelandtrip. Exept for the 2-3 first days, we had fantastic weather the whole time!! Thanks to S. Gislasson and Dassi
helping us with some mecanical issues on the run !! The plan is to be back in five years, if not earlier..
